Li-San's Piano Studio Policy
In setting down the following policy it is Li-San’s desire to develop a harmonious relationship with students so that her students will have an enjoyable educational experience.

Practice
Parent Supervision
The parent should make sure that the student is completing the weekly practice and assignments. The parent is not required to stay in the studio during their child’s lesson, but are encouraged to do so if their child is under 7 years of age.
Open Door Policy
Li-San is glad to talk with you and is willing to listen to any advice you may have about the piano lesson. Feel free to email Li-San regarding questions or concerns, or make an appointment to call if necessary.
Studio Agreement
Tuition
- Full payment of tuition fee by the school term and exam or eisteddfod fees is due the 1st lesson of each term as detailed in an invoice, which is given at end of the previous term.
- Tuition is to be paid for the whole school term regardless of how many lessons are attended by the student unless notice has been given to discontinue lessons.
- Tuition fees are non-refundable.
- No refunds will be given for lessons missed by the student.
- Make up lessons or credit to next term will be provided in case of sickness/emergency, for which notice is appreciated as soon as possible.
- Make up lessons are not guaranteed to be individual lessons.
- Missed make up lessons are forfeited.
- Any lessons missed by Li-San will be made up for or credited to next term’s tuition.
Requirements
- Students are expected to be on time and prepared for their lesson, and to bring all books.
- Li-San requires that students have a well tuned piano and a metronome in their home for practice.
- A weighted 88 key digital piano is acceptable for beginner level students. A good quality piano is essential for developing a sensitive touch and listening skills.
Practice
- Goal oriented and focused practice is crucial in order for a student to progress.
- Li-San requires that students practice at least 5 days a week. Practice is best done in sessions of 15-30 minutes.
- Li-San suggests the following minimum times for daily practice/homework activities:
- Preschool Piano: 20 minutes

Studio Agreement
- I agree that Li-San is not responsible for any injuries sustained on the studio site.
- Li-San has the right to discontinue teaching any student who portrays inappropriate conduct or who fails to respect the studio policy (there is no refund of tuition fee for this).
